Intuition

Intuition is alertness, total presence of mind, well-honed instinct and appropriate spontaneity – all at the same time. Mind and body, reason and emotion, culture and experience all come together to deliver performance and decision-making that transcends the everyday.

An intuitive leader knows whether an action will deliver the right result, and when time is pressing intuition can provide an inspired short-cut. This is achieved by emphasising creative solutions to cut through the complexity that can all too often stifle decision-making.

Of course, not all leaders are intuitive. Some are highly analytical, relying on logic alone. Others may trust their instincts, but are afraid to act on gut feeling without extensive background checks. But the strongly visionary leader creates original insights to get to the heart of any issue, judiciously harnessing data as supporting evidence.
