Judgment is the crucial ability to draw meaningful conclusions from experience, to weigh up statements about the world, and to make connections that deliver real insight. Good judgment also involves a degree of prediction: of the reactions of individuals or groups, and of the impact of a decision on likely outcomes.
But whilst good judgment can be learned, for many people it is an innate quality, allowing the individual to screen out the superfluous and create a clear mental state from which the right outcome can be attained. Naturally, feelings and intuition play an important part in good judgment, since applying cold logic alone does not provide a solid base for sound decision-making.
